Day 7: Moab, UT, Arches and Canyonlands State parks, 170 miles

We start our day at Arches National Park
Park Avenue

"Oh, look, huckleberries."-Gracie
"Those are juniper berries. They are used for making gin." Cindi

"This reminds me of Mars." Maddy

La Sal Mountains

Three gossips

Sheep rock

"That rock looks like a dick."-Joani

Balanced rock

"So far, I think Arches is my favorite."-Maddy

North Window
Arch cliff side selfie
"It's kinda hard to take a picture cuz it just looks like a butt crack."-Maddy
Turret
South window
North and South Window together
"It's beautiful!"-Skylar

"Oh my god, look at pride rock!"-Joani
Cove of caves
Double Arch

"It's hot, my boobs are sweating."-Joani

This rock is giving you the finger.

Canyonlands National Park
"Ok, we've done that, let's ring our victory bell."-Gracie

Mesa Arch
"I really think Maddy has no brains sometimes."-Gracie

"Is that my chilly rag in your boob?"-Joani
"No, it's in my cleavage."-Cindi
Green River overlook
Random cool trees:
Grand View Point Overlook
"You're going to get stuck and then we'll be screwed."-Joani
"It's merely a flesh wound."-Skylar
"I'm not one for common sense."-Skylar

Whiptail lizard
A raven for our birding fans. The raven has been our mascot of sorts actually. We have seen tons of them and the teens think they are cool.
Schaffer canyon

"That mound looks like fro-yo."-Maddy

Back to Arches for a longer hike out to catch Delicate Arch at sunset.
The hike was intense in spots. It was cool to climb the face of the rock, but it was really hot out.
The climb was totally worth it!
"Skylar! You play around with that trash and drop my phone! You little punk!"-Cindi

"I think that was the highlight of my day."-Skylar
Sunset on the trail
Moonlight selfie
Petroglyphs

My favorite thing today: lots of hiking (some exercise!) with very little complaining from teens!
