Day 2: Bozeman, 56 miles

We started today with a beautiful view of the inside of the tipi.
We knew it was going to get hot fast, but we enjoyed hanging around being lazy.
Today's first stop is right up the hill a few miles to the L&C caverns visitors center.
We got our tickets and joined our tour group for the 3/4 mile hike up the mountain to the cave entrance.

Even though it was still early, we were pretty hot by the time we finished the steep climb. We were more than happy to head into the cave of 48 degrees.
Just inside we got some fun history of the caves and we got to see the bats that call the cave home.
Once we got a little deeper down and away from the fragile bat moms we could take some pictures of the amazing limestone formations inside the caves.

All colors you see in the photos are natural, they are not colored lights in the caves. The formations are also all naturally occurring.

Once we finished the 2 hour, 2 mile tour we emerged from the cave back to the heat realizing we were quite hungry. We found a spot of shade, grabbed what ever was in the cooler and had a quick picnic before heading to Bozeman.

Mom quote:
"I'm so f**king hot!"-Cindi

Once in Bozeman, our only plans were to set up camp, hit town to get Maddy a book, then dinner and the pool.
Getting the tents set up in the heat of the day wasn't my favorite thing today.

Teen & mom quotes:
"I'm never coming back to Montana!"-Maddy.
"People in Montana are ballsy drivers."-Cindi
"It is liquor laced!"-Joani
"I'm not taking a shower until Vegas!"-Skylar

My favorite thing today had to be the peach Bellini from Johnny Carino's with the liquor soaked peach on top. The caves weren't bad either ;)
