Day 6: Moab, UT, 213 miles

woke to the noises of nature earlier than I wanted. I got up and started packing things before the tent got unbearably hot.

While everyone else slept I got some breakfast and met a new friend. He quickly became a pest, charging at my feet trying to get my food.

He stuck around to bug the kids too.
"I'm gonna kick that chipmunk, I swear to God!"-Skylar

We stayed the night in the Dino park. The view was spectacular!

Our first stop is Dinosaur National visitors center and quarry.
Tram to the quarry
There are 12 different species of Dino bones exposed in this once river bed. They collected here when the animals would come to drink, but would not find water during times of drought. They would die and they when the waters would return and flood the area it would wash the bones down stream in a type of log jam.

Back on the road...more cool scenery.

State #6

We drive in and out of Colorado on our way to Moab, UT. We will be back to Colorado in a couple days when we go to Mesa Verde.

"That place really screwed me! I got a disgusting corn dog and no candy, but now I'm done complaining...that corn dog ruined all corn dogs for me."-Maddy

"I love that smell, sagebrush in the rain, it's my favorite smell!"-Cindi
We got some really cool lightning strikes right in front of the truck too.

More amazing scenes from the road:
"It's so gorg!-Joani
Actually, it is a gorge."-Cindi

Back in Utah!

See how the color of the rock changes!
Moab, UT
Moab Brewery
In Utah they can only serve beer on tap with a limit of 4% alcohol.
"That's lame!"-Rob (on the phone while we were out to eat)

Moab McDonald's ice stop:

Tonight and tomorrow night we will stay at the Moab KOA in a Kamping Kabin (spelled with K's as in KOA fashion). This evening after dinner we came back to camp to relax, hit the pool, do some laundry and enjoy the free wifi. Check out our view!

My favorite thing today: seeing the kids enjoy dinosaurs all over again, like when they were little.
