Practicing

Over the Memorial Day weekend our two families went camping out on the Washington peninsula. For a practice run Cindi and I loaded up the kids in the truck and headed to Hurricane Ridge.

We also went all the way out to Neah Bay which is at the tip top of Washington state. We stood at the point in the world where the Pacific Ocean meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It was beautiful!

One week from today we set out on our big adventure! We are busy with the packing and the last minute prep. We are all so excited!

Our story:

2 moms and 3 teens hit the open road for an adventure like no other. 11 National Parks is our goal. We will cover the span of 11 western States and we will do it all in a Dodge Ram truck in 16 days. Cindi and I have been friends and teaching colleagues since the mid 1990's. We've taught together, drank together, camped together, even had maternity leave together. Our kids have grown up together, but we are not fools, we know this trip will not be all sing-a-longs and rainbows. These are teens with attitudes and hormones that scream and growl when agitated. We have been planning this for a long time and we have taken precautions and made some rules, but pharmaceuticals will help some too ;-). We hope you enjoy following us on our journey. There should be pictures of the amazing National Parks each day as well as teenager quotes and other fun surprises from our travels.
